Rowland History
Rowland Elementary was founded in 1966 and was named after W.C. Rowland. W.C. Rowland was the director of pupil personnel and accountability for the Victoria Independent School District. Rowland was originally built on the edge of town in a pasture. We were originally the Rowland Rabbits due to the large number of jack rabbits in the field. In the early 80’s, the mascot was changed to the Roadrunner, and we are still Rowland Roadrunner PROUD today!
